==Geography== Bensalem is the southernmost township in Bucks County and is bordered by the [[Northeast Philadelphia]] section of the city of [[Philadelphia]] to the west and south, [[Croydon, Pennsylvania|Croydon]] and the rest of [[Bristol Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania|Bristol Township]] to the east and northeast, the borough of [[Hulmeville, Pennsylvania|Hulmeville]] and [[Middletown Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania|Middletown Township]] to the north, and [[Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania|Feasterville]], [[Trevose, Pennsylvania|Trevose]], and [[Oakford, Pennsylvania|Oakford]] in [[Lower Southampton Township, Pennsylvania|Lower Southampton Township]] to the northwest. Across the [[Delaware River]] in [[Burlington County, New Jersey|Burlington County]], [[New Jersey]] to the southeast, there are the city of [[Beverly, New Jersey|Beverly]], [[Delanco Township, New Jersey|Delanco Township]], and [[Edgewater Park Township, New Jersey|Edgewater Park Township]]. According to the [[United States Census Bureau|U.S. Census Bureau]], the township has a total area of {{convert|21.0|sqmi|km2}}, of which {{convert|20.0|sqmi|km2}} is land and {{convert|1.0|sqmi|km2}} (4.77%) is water.
