==Demographics==
As of the [[census]] of 2000, there were 482 people, 222 households, and 150 families residing in the township.<ref name="GR2" /> The population density was {{convert|3.9|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 623 housing units at an average density of {{convert|5.0|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the township was 93.36% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 3.11% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.41% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], and 3.11% from two or more races. Among its population, 17.8% were of [[Swedish people|Swedish]], 16.3% [[German people|German]], 14.8% [[Finnish people|Finnish]], 7.8% [[French people|French]], 7.5% [[Irish people|Irish]] and 6.6% [[Norwegian people|Norwegian]] ancestry. By 2020, its population was 492.<ref name=":0" />

In 2000, the median income for a household in the township was $31,705, and the median income for a family was $39,545. Males had a median income of $26,786 versus $22,292 for females. The [[per capita income]] for the township was $19,800.  About 3.8% of families and 8.0% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 18.9% of those under age 18 and 6.8% of those age 65 or over. The 2021 census estimates determined its median household income was $52,500.<ref name=":0" />
