==Geography== According to the [[United States Census Bureau|U.S. Census Bureau]], Ardmore has a total area of {{convert|5.1|sqkm|order=flip}}, all land.<ref name="Census 2010"/> Ardmore is adjacent to [[Wynnewood, Pennsylvania|Wynnewood]] (east), [[Haverford, Pennsylvania|Haverford]] (west), [[Gladwyne, Pennsylvania|Gladwyne]] (north), and [[Havertown, Pennsylvania|Havertown]] (southwest).<ref name=":0" /> Ardmore's downtown, primarily centered around [[Lancaster Avenue|Lancaster Ave]], Rittenhouse Place, and Cricket Ave, is home to many shops, restaurants, and [[small business]]es.<ref>{{Cite web |last=admin |title=Ardmore Initiative |url=https://www.destinationardmore.com/ardmore-initiative/ |access-date=November 22, 2022 |website=Destination Ardmore |language=en-US}}</ref> The western end of downtown features more traditional retail establishments, including the Ardmore West and Ardmore Plaza Shopping Centers. [[Suburban Square]], opened in 1928 as one of the earliest shopping centers in the United States, is located just north of the Ardmore train station.<ref>Jones, Dick, ed. Another neighborhood in the Haverford Township portion of town is Ardmore Park, roughly bounded by Haverford Road to the South, Ardmore Avenue to the west, and County Line Road to the North.
