===Industrialization===
Ahmeek served as a critical stop for several transportation services, mostly around the early 20th century. It served as a depot on the [[Mineral Range Railroad]] and the [[Copper Range Railroad]] and also had a streetcar station for the [[Houghton County Traction Company]], which ran south from [[Houghton, Michigan|Houghton]] up to Ahmeek, and on north towards [[Mohawk, Michigan|Mohawk]].<ref name=":4" /><ref name=":1" /><ref name=":9" /><ref name=":7" /><ref name=":11">{{Cite book|url=https://catalog.archives.gov/id/25339779|title=Michigan SP Houghton County Traction Company Ahmeek Streetcar Station|last=Department of the Interior.
