Roman and [[Numidia]]n forces under the leadership of the Roman general [[Scipio Africanus|Publius Cornelius Scipio]] and his Numidian ally, [[Masinissa]], defeat a combined army of Carthaginians and their Numidian allies under the command of [[Hannibal]] and force Carthage to capitulate.
