He is kept under the custody of Roger Mortimer's son-in-law, [[Thomas de Berkeley, 3rd Baron Berkeley|Thomas Berkeley]] and [[John Maltravers, 1st Baron Maltravers|John Maltravers]] – who are given £5.00 a day to look after Edward and despite records showing luxury goods being bought for him.
