On 21 October 1896, Victor Emmanuel married [[Princess Elena of Montenegro]], daughter of [[Nicholas I of Montenegro|King Nicholas I of Montenegro]]. Their issue included:

# [[Princess Yolanda of Savoy|Yolanda]] (1 June 1901 – 16 October 1986), married [[Giorgio Calvi di Bergolo|Giorgio Carlo Calvi, Count of Bergolo]] on 9 April 1923. They had five children.
# [[Princess Mafalda of Savoy|Mafalda]] (19 November 1902 – 28 August 1944), married [[Prince Philipp of Hesse]] on 23 September 1925. They had four children. She died in the [[Nazism|Nazi]] [[concentration camp]] at [[Buchenwald]].
# [[Umberto II of Italy|Umberto]], later Umberto II, King of Italy (15 September 1904 – 18 March 1983) married Princess [[Marie José of Belgium]]  on 8 January 1930. They had four children.
# [[Giovanna of Italy|Giovanna]] (13 November 1907 – 26 February 2000), married King [[Boris III of Bulgaria]] on 25 October 1930. They had two children including [[Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha|Simeon II]], King and later [[Prime Minister of Bulgaria]].
# [[Princess Maria Francesca of Savoy|Maria Francesca]] (26 December 1914 – 4 December 2001), married Prince Luigi of [[Bourbon–Parma]] on 25 January 1939. They had four children.
