In 2021 [[Suriname national football team|Suriname]] participated in their first [[CONCACAF Gold Cup]] where they played against Costa Rica, Jamaica and Guadeloupe in Group C. Suriname lost its first two matches against Jamaica and Costa Rica, but ended third in the group following a 2–1 win against Guadeloupe. Swimmer [[Anthony Nesty]] is the only [[Olympic Games|Olympic]] medalist for Suriname. He won gold in the 100-meter butterfly at the [[1988 Summer Olympics]] in [[Seoul]] and he won bronze in the same discipline at the 1992 Summer Olympics in [[Barcelona]].
