[[World Refugee Day]] has occurred annually on 20 June since 2000 by a special United Nations General Assembly Resolution. 20 June had previously been commemorated as "African Refugee Day" in a number of African countries.<ref>{{UN document |docid=A-RES-55-76 |type=Resolution |body=General Assembly |session=55 |resolution_number=76 |accessdate=2021-09-04|date=4 December 2000}}</ref>

In the United Kingdom World Refugee Day is celebrated as part of [[Refugee Week]].
