In March 1958, the [[Lewis Morris County Park]] in [[Morris Township, New Jersey|Morris Township]] became the first park dedicated by the MCPC, covering {{convert|350|acres}}. As of 2021, it has expanded to {{convert|2196|acres}} with {{convert|22.1|miles}} of trails. The park was named for [[Lewis Morris (governor)|Lewis Morris]], the first [[List of colonial governors of New Jersey|Colonial Governor of New Jersey]].<ref>[https://www.morrisparks.net/index.php/parks/lewis-morris-county-park/ Lewis Morris County Park], [[Morris County Park Commission]].
