===Fire & rescue=== 
Firefighting and [[Emergency service]]s are the responsibility of cities and townships. The City of Grayling and Grayling Charter township have a joint department, with 22 salaried and paid-per call professionals. The remaining townships each have a primarily [[Volunteer fire department]], but all provide mutual and automatic aid to other departments throughout the county and adjacent counties.
