== Upstream dams == [[File:Yangtze longitudinal profile upstream.JPG|thumb|Longitudinal profile of upstream Yangtze River]] In order to maximize the utility of the Three Gorges Dam and cut down on sedimentation from the [[Jinsha River]], the upper course of the Yangtze River, authorities are building a series of dams on the Jinsha, including the now completed [[Wudongde Dam|Wudongde]], [[Baihetan Dam|Baihetan]], [[Xiluodu]], and [[Xiangjiaba]] dams.
