The independence in 1975 saw the entrance of new pioneers. In total, there are about 3,000 declared Baháʼís {{As of|2010|lc=y}}. Muslims are particularly present in the north of the country. They are organised in several "[[tariqa]]" or [[Fraternity|brotherhoods]]. Two national organisations also exist—the ''Conselho Islâmico de Moçambique'' and the ''Congresso Islâmico de Moçambique''. There are also important Pakistani, Indian associations as well as some Shia communities.
