In a speech delivered at the [[Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party – Syria Region|Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party]]'s central committee meeting in December 2023, the Ba'ath party secretary-general [[Bashar al-Assad]] claimed that there was "no evidence" of the killings of six million Jews during [[the Holocaust]]. Assad alleged that the Holocaust was "politicized" by [[Allied Powers (World War II)|Allied powers]] to facilitate the mass-deportation of [[European Jews]] to [[Palestine (region)|Palestine]].
