The ruling acknowledged that "the defendants failed to ensure safety as the defoliants manufactured by the defendants had higher levels of dioxins than standard", and, quoting the U.S. National Academy of Science report, declared that there was a "causal relationship" between Agent Orange and a range of diseases, including several cancers. The judges failed to acknowledge "the relationship between the chemical and peripheral neuropathy, the disease most widespread among Agent Orange victims".<ref>{{cite news |url=http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/world/2006-01-26-agent-orange-damages_x.htm |title=Korea orders Agent Orange payments |website=USA Today |date=2006-01-26 |access-date=2017-03-10 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170226131319/http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/world/2006-01-26-agent-orange-damages_x.htm |archive-date=2017-02-26 |url-status=live}}</ref> In 2011, the United States local press KPHO-TV in Phoenix, Arizona, alleged that in 1978 that the United States Army had buried 250 55-gallon drums ({{convert|13,750|U.S.gal|abbr=on}}) of Agent Orange in [[Camp Carroll, South Korea|Camp Carroll]], the U.S. Army base located in [[Gyeongsangbuk-do]], South Korea.<ref>{{cite news |url=http://www.kpho.com/news/27892124/detail.html |title=Military Secrets Exposed |work=KPHO-TV |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110514170728/http://www.kpho.com/news/27892124/detail.html |archive-date=May 14, 2011 |date=May 13, 2011}}</ref> Currently, veterans who provide evidence meeting VA requirements for service in Vietnam and who can medically establish that anytime after this 'presumptive exposure' they developed any medical problems on the list of presumptive diseases, may receive compensation from the VA.
