[[Nazi-looted artworks of Vincent van Gogh|During]] the [[Nazi Germany|Nazi period]] (1933–1945) a great number of artworks by Van Gogh changed hands, many of them looted from Jewish collectors who were forced into exile or murdered. Some of these works have disappeared into private collections.
