In the 2023 ''Guardian University Guide'' subject tables, UCL is ranked top in construction, surveying and planning. It was ranked in the top ten for 21 of 31 subjects offered (68%).<ref name="The Guardian University Guide"/>

UCL is ranked top in the 2023 ''Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide'' for American studies, building, information systems and management, liberal arts, and town and country planning. It is ranked in the top ten for 31 of 44 subjects offered (70%). The 2023 ''Good University Guide'' also ranked UCL 98th in their social inclusion ranking (covering England and Wales). UCL was named [[Sunday Times University of the Year|University of the Year]] in the ''Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide'' for 2024.<ref name="The Times and Sunday Times University Guide"/>
