== Passenger trains ==

A passenger train is used to transport people along a railroad line. These trains may consist of unpowered [[passenger railroad car]]s (also known as coaches or carriages) [[push-pull train|hauled]] by one or more locomotives, or may be self-propelled; self propelled passenger trains are known as [[multiple unit]]s or [[railcar]]s. Passenger trains travel between [[train station|stations or depots]], where passengers may board and disembark. Long distance passenger trains travel over hundreds or even thousands of miles between cities. "[[Higher speed train]]s" is the category between conventional and high speed trains, which travel at speeds between the two. Examples include the [[Northeast Regional]] (excluding the [[Acela]]) in the United States, the [[Gatimaan Express]] in India, and the [[KTM ETS]] in Malaysia.
