In 2015, Microsoft Philanthropies, an internal charitable organization, was established to bring the benefits of technology and the digital revolution to areas and groups that lack them. During [[Russian invasion of Ukraine]] Microsoft started monitoring [[cyberattack]]s originating from the [[Government of Russia]] and Russia-backed hackers.
