[[Route 1 (Iceland)|Route 1]], or the Ring Road ({{langx|is|Þjóðvegur 1}} or {{lang|is|Hringvegur}}), completed in 1974, is the main road that runs around Iceland and connects most inhabited parts of the island. The interior of the island is mostly uninhabitable.
