The county is traversed by two [[Interstate Highway System|interstate highways]]: [[Interstate 66|I-66]] in the northern part of the county and [[Interstate 395 (District of Columbia-Virginia)|I-395]] in the eastern part, both with [[high-occupancy vehicle lane|HOV lanes]] or restrictions. In addition, the county is served by the [[George Washington Memorial Parkway]]. The north–south streets are generally alphabetical, starting with one-syllable names, then two-, three- and four-syllable names. The first alphabetical street is Ball Street. The last is Arizona. Many east–west streets are numbered. Route 50 divides Arlington County. Streets are generally labeled North above Route 50, and South below.
