The Institute of Sound and Vibration Research ('''ISVR'''), is an acoustical research institute which is part of the University of Southampton. Founded in 1963, it has been awarded a 2006 [[Queen's Anniversary Prize]] for Higher and Further Education.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.isvr.soton.ac.uk/General/AboutUS.htm|title=Institute of Sound and Vibration Research}}</ref>

ISVR is divided into four distinct groups of research:
*The Dynamics Group, (specialised in the modelling, measurement and control of structural vibrations).<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.isvr.soton.ac.uk/dg/index.htm|title=ISVR Dynamics Group – Engineering and the Environment – University of Southampton|access-date=31 May 2015}}</ref>
