Unlike many towns and cities in New Zealand, Nelson has retained many [[Victorian architecture|Victorian building]]s in its historic centre. * Broadgreen Historic House was built in 1855 for Mr and Mrs Edmund Buxton, additionally with their six daughters. The house was later sold to Fred Langbein in 1901, who lived there with his family until 1965.
