In 2015, Lula, along with his former chief of staff {{Ill|Gilberto Carvalho|pt|Gilberto Carvalho|lt=Gilberto Carvalho}} and five others, was indicted in a corruption probe as part of {{Ill|Operation Zelotes|pt|Operação Zelotes|lt=Operation Zelotes}}, regarding payment of R$6 million in bribes (US&nbsp;${{To USD round|5|BRA|year=2015|sf=2}} million).
