===Yamaha Electone GX-1 synthesiser=== After founder Robert Moog left Moog Music in the late 1970s, Emerson began to consider using synthesisers made by other companies.<ref name=reid /> Emerson became one of the few buyers of the [[Yamaha GX-1]] polyphonic synthesiser, which reportedly cost almost $50,000.
