====Membership and participation of the Republic of China==== China and the United Nations Cross-Strait relations The Republic of China (ROC), whose government controlled Mainland China from 1912 to 1949 and currently controls Taiwan since 1945 following World War II, was the founding member of WHO since its inception and had represented "China" in the organization.
