The hospital was rebuilt on the City General site on the A34, London Road. Community health services are run by [[Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Partnership NHS Trust]] with mental health services provided by [[North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust]]. Policing in Stoke-on-Trent is provided by [[Staffordshire Police]], which has police stations in Hanley, Bucknall, Burslem, Longton, Stoke and Tunstall. [[Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court]] and Stoke-on-Trent [[County Court (England and Wales)|County Court]] share [[Stoke-on-Trent Combined Court Centre]] in Hanley. There is no [[magistrates' court (England and Wales)|magistrates' court]]. Hearings were held in [[Fenton Town Hall]] until it closed in 2012. [[Severn Trent]] manages Stoke-on-Trent's drinking and waste water. Since the 1970s, the city's main library had been the former Hanley Library, later known as the City Central Library & Archives in Bethesda Street, which was home to the city's archives. During this period, the City Council operated eight smaller libraries throughout the city. In July 2022, it was announced that the Hanley Library building, along with others in the city, would be closed to be sold.
