===Festivals=== [[File:SowetoWineFestival.JPG|thumb|The Soweto Wine Festival 2009]] The Soweto Wine Festival was started in 2004. The three-night festival is hosted at the [[University of Johannesburg]]'s Soweto Campus on Chris Hani Road in the first weekend of September. Organised by the Cape Wine Academy, the festival attracts over 6000 wine enthusiasts, over 100 of South Africa's finest wineries and well over 900 fine wines. [[Soweto Pride]], an annual pride parade, is held in Soweto every year, on the last Saturday of September. The inaugural Pride was in 2004. The parade aims to celebrate black lesbian, queer and trans women plus non-binary people, and offer them space to voice issues affecting them.
