The electricity generation sector in Poland is largely [[Fossil fuel|fossil-fuel]]–based. The new [[Energy in Poland|Energy Policy of Poland until 2040]] (EPP2040) would reduce the share of coal and [[lignite]] in electricity generation by 25% from 2017 to 2030.
