Allen was diagnosed with Stage 1-A [[Hodgkin's lymphoma]] in 1982.<ref name=cnet2013/> His cancer was successfully treated by several months of [[radiation therapy]].<ref name=fortune2018/> Allen was diagnosed with [[non-Hodgkin lymphoma]] in 2009. Likewise, the cancer was successfully treated until it returned in 2018.
