Transportation for Fitchburg is largely supplied by the [[Montachusett Regional Transit Authority]] (MART). MART<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.mrta.us |title=mrta.us |publisher=mrta.us |date=November 17, 2010 |access-date=February 1, 2012}}</ref> operates fixed-route bus services, shuttle services, as well as paratransit services within the [[Montachusett-North County|Montachusett Region]]. It also provides two connections to the [[Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority|MBTA]] Commuter Rail line at [[Fitchburg Intermodal Transportation Center|Fitchburg Station]] and [[Wachusett station|Wachusett Station]]. The Fitchburg Station is the second to last stop on the [[Fitchburg Line]] from the [[North Station]] in [[Boston]] and the Wachusett Station is the last stop.

The [[Fitchburg Municipal Airport]] occupies {{convert|335|acres|abbr=on}} off Airport Road in Fitchburg near the Leominster border. In 1940, the airport land was donated to the City of Fitchburg and serves the greater Fitchburg area.
