===Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth===
The [[Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth]] of 1569–1795 used consensus decision-making in the form of ''[[liberum veto]]'' ('free veto') in its [[Sejms]] (legislative assemblies). A type of [[unanimous consent]], the ''liberum veto'' originally allowed any member of a Sejm to veto an individual law by shouting ''Sisto activitatem!'' (Latin: "I stop the activity!") or ''Nie pozwalam!''
