The BNP has taken part in European Parliament elections since 1999, when it received 1.13% of the total vote (102,647 votes).

The BNP won two seats in the European Parliament in the [[2009 European Parliament election in the United Kingdom|2009 elections]]. The UK government announced in 2009 that the BNP's two MEPs would be denied some of the access and information afforded to other MEPs.
