[[Atayal people|Atayal]], [[Seediq people|Seediq]] and [[Taroko people|Taroko]] people believe that bad-luck or punishments of 'Utux', which refers to any kind of [[supernatural]] spirits or ancestors, would infect the relatives. When a member in relatives has violated a taboo or met with misfortune, a ritual will be held.
