Tourism plays a major role in the city's economy on account of [[List of tourist attractions in Sheffield|numerous attractions]]—namely the Peak District, sports events (in particular, the [[Snooker World Championships]]) and musical festivals (such as [[Tramlines]]). In 2012, [[Sheffield City Region Enterprise Zone]] was launched to promote development in a number of sites in Sheffield and across the wider region.
