Geʽez is the liturgical language of [[Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church|Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo]], [[Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church|Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo]], [[Ethiopian Catholic Church|Ethiopian Catholic]] and [[Eritrean Catholic Church|Eritrean Catholic]] Christians and the [[Beta Israel]], and is used in prayer and in scheduled public celebrations.
