== Currency == {{main|Hungarian forint|#Fiscal policy}} The currency of Hungary is the Hungarian forint (HUF, Ft) since 1 August 1946. A forint consists of 100 fillérs; however, since these have not been in circulation since 1999, they are only used in accounting. There are six [[Coins of the Hungarian forint|coins]] (5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200)<ref name="3719hungarian_forint_c">{{cite web|url=http://english.mnb.hu/engine.aspx?page=mnben_coins|title=Hungarian Forint coins|publisher=Hungarian National Bank|year=2009|access-date=19 November 2009|url-status=dead|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20100103151916/http://english.mnb.hu/engine.aspx?page=mnben_coins|archive-date=3 January 2010}}</ref> and six [[Banknotes of the Hungarian forint|banknotes]] (500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10,000 and 20,000).<ref name="1934hungarian_forint_b">{{cite web|url=http://english.mnb.hu/engine.aspx?page=mnben_notes|title=Hungarian Forint banknotes|publisher=Hungarian National Bank|year=2009|access-date=19 November 2009|url-status=dead|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20091108145307/http://english.mnb.hu/engine.aspx?page=mnben_notes|archive-date=8 November 2009}}</ref> The 1 and 2 Forint coins were withdrawn in 2008, yet prices remained the same as stores follow the official rounding scheme<ref name="3734hungarian_forint_r">{{cite web|url=http://english.forint.hu/engine.aspx?page=rounding|title=Hungarian Forint rounding|publisher=Hungarian National Bank|year=2009|access-date=19 November 2009|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090221125959/http://english.forint.hu/engine.aspx?page=rounding|archive-date=21 February 2009|url-status=dead}}</ref> for the final price.
