===Canadian government debt===
[[Canadian public debt|Canadian government debt]], also called Canada's public debt, is the liabilities of the government sector.  For 2019 (the fiscal year ending 31 March 2020), total financial liabilities or gross debt was $2.434 trillion for the consolidated Canadian general government (federal, provincial, territorial, and local governments combined).  This corresponds to 105.3% as a ratio of GDP (GDP was $2.311 trillion).<ref name="SC_largeDeficit">{{Cite web|last=Statistics Canada|first=The Daily|date=2020-11-18|title=Largest deficit in seven years in 2019; full impact of pandemic yet to be seen|url=https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quotidien/201118/dq201118b-eng.htm}}</ref>  Of the $2.434 trillion, $1.146 trillion or 47% was federal (central) government liabilities (49.6% as a ratio of GDP).
