==Education==
Higher education within the county is provided by the Letterkenny campus of the [[Atlantic Technological University]] (ATU; formerly the [[Letterkenny Institute of Technology]] (LYIT), popularly known locally as 'the Regional', established in the 1970s). In addition, many young people from the county attend third-level institutions elsewhere in Ireland, especially at [[Magee College]] and other institutions in Derry, and also at: [[Ulster University at Coleraine]] (UUC); [[Ulster University]] at [[Jordanstown]] (UUJ); [[The Queen's University of Belfast]] (Queen's or QUB); and the [[University of Galway]] (formerly NUI Galway). Some Donegal students also attend the [[Limavady]] campus of the [[North West Regional College]] (popularly known as Limavady Tech) and the [[Omagh]] campus of [[South West College]] (popularly known as Omagh Tech or Omagh College).{{fact|date=March 2025}}
