The Ashby Fire Department<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.ashbyfire-ems.org/|title=Ashby Fire and EMS – Serving the community since 1767}}</ref> located at 1093 Main Street, Ashby, provides fire protection, rescue and EMS (Emergency Medical Services) to the town. The department is made up of a combination of paid, on-call, and volunteer personnel that serve the community. Other services include permitting, inspections, community service, and CPR classes. The department's fire apparatus consist of three fire engines, one tanker, one forestry, a chief's car, utility pickup and two UTV's.
