According to the [[United Kingdom Census 2011|2011 UK census]], Whitby parish had a population of 13,213 living in 6,097 households.<ref name="2011 census">{{NOMIS2011 | id = 1170217370 | title = Whitby Parish | access-date = 21 March 2018}}</ref>
