This day is called {{lang|ko|์๊ฐํ์ ์ผ}} (Seokga tansinil), meaning "Buddha's birthday" or {{lang|ko|๋ถ์ฒ๋ ์ค์ ๋ }} (Bucheonim osin nal) meaning "the day when the Buddha came". It has now grown into one of the nation's biggest cultural festivals.
