In [[South Korea]] the [[Buddha's Birthday|birthday of Buddha]] is celebrated on the 8th day of the 4th month in the [[Korean calendar|Korean lunar calendar]] (as well as in [[Hong Kong]], [[Macau]]) and is an official holiday. This day is called {{lang|ko|석가탄신일}} (Seokga tansinil), meaning "Buddha's birthday" or {{lang|ko|부처님 오신 날}} (Bucheonim osin nal) meaning "the day when the Buddha came". It has now grown into one of the nation's biggest cultural festivals.
