===Deputy Marshals=== Deputy U.S. Marshals start their careers at the [[General Schedule (US civil service pay scale)|GS]]-7 pay grade.<ref name="opm.gov"/> After the first year in grade, they are promoted to [[General Schedule (US civil service pay scale)|GS]]-9, then to [[General Schedule (US civil service pay scale)|GS]]-11 after a second year, and then to [[General Schedule (US civil service pay scale)|GS]]-12 after a third year.
