===Media=== ''The Stalybridge Reporter'' weekly newspaper was established in 1855. With ''The North Cheshire Herald'' it now serves the wider district under the name ''The Tamesider Reporter''. Its office, and that of ''The Glossop Chronicle'' is at Park House, Acres Lane. The weekly free newspaper ''The Tameside Advertiser'' was established in 1979 and is now owned by [[Trinity Mirror]] and distributed throughout Stalybridge. Local news and television programmes are provided by [[BBC North West]] and [[ITV Granada]].
