In the Philippines, rodeo was introduced in the island during the [[American colonial era in the Philippines]] by the then-Acting Governor of the [[Department of Mindanao and Sulu]] [[Teofisto Guingona Sr.]] setting up ranches in [[Impasugong, Bukidnon]] and [[Wao, Lanao del Sur]].
