The borough was the setting for four cycling events during the Olympics, the [[Cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's individual road race|men's road race]], [[Cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's individual road race|women's road race]], [[Cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's road time trial|men's road time trial]] and [[Cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's road time trial|women's road time trial]].
