==Legal issues== In June 2004, the [[United States Department of Agriculture]] (USDA), with the advisement of a federal district judge from [[Beaumont, Texas]], classified batter-coated french fries as a [[vegetable]] under the [[Agricultural Marketing Service|Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act]].
