It is the surviving one of formerly two bridge-head churches of the {{lang|de|[[Krämerbrücke]]}} located on both ends of the bridge. As a result, the nave is on the first floor, while on ground level is a passage to the bridge. The steeple is open to the public and offers a good view over the city centre.
