Several works of the [[Sangam era|Sangam]] and post-Sangam period, many of which are of [[Hindu]] or [[Jain]] origin, emphasizes on ''dharma''. Most of these texts are based on ''[[Aram (Kural book)|aṟam]]'', the Tamil term for ''dharma''.
