It is my city and I want to encourage other Protestants to feel exactly the same", he said.<ref name="Alienation conference" /> Support for Protestants in the district has been strong from the SDLP politician [[Helen Quigley]], who formerly served as the mayor of Derry. She made inclusion and tolerance key themes of her mayoralty. Cllr.
